Brand Origin

Wear Equal was founded by social entrepreneur Preeta Chaudhuri Ghosal. With a decade of experience in the social development sector, Preeta had travelled to remote & rural pockets all over the country where she observed the acute gap in the access to underwear which severely affected the usage of pads. Back home, she saw piles of premium fabric being wasted in her family's garment manufacturing factory. She decided to upcycle these certified organic fabrics to make intimate wear products. Her hybrid business model, wherein she could give back part of the profits from the brand to distribute underwear to rural women, got selected in IIM Bangalore's Women Startup Program and she launched the brand in 2019.
