Wear Equal was founded by social entrepreneur Preeta Chaudhuri Ghosal. With a decade of experience in the social development sector, Preeta had travelled to remote & rural pockets all over the country where she observed the acute gap in the access to underwear which severely affected the usage of pads. Back home, she saw piles of premium fabric being wasted in her family's garment manufacturing factory. She decided to upcycle these certified organic fabrics to make intimate wear products. Her hybrid business model, wherein she could give back part of the profits from the brand to distribute underwear to rural women, got selected in IIM Bangalore's Women Startup Program and she launched the brand in 2019.

We make our beautiful pieces from GOTS certified surplus and textile waste using zero waste production techniques. This means all our patterns are designed with precision to minimise waste, and with the shreds and scraps from our own collection we make ancillary products. All products are screen-printed with GOTS certified colours - reducing both carbon footprint as well as any harm to the skin.
