Eco printing begins with plants. You need to understand which plants will give better and successful results for the design & color that you want on the fabric. These plant's availability and affordability is something that you better check before fixing on the plant. Mostly used plants are eucalyptus, red maple leaves, black walnut leaves, rose flowers and many other flowers also.
Process for Eco-Printing
The parts of plants are kept on mordant treated fabric, rolled into a bundle and then steamed or simmered. This is basic method. The bundling is also an important step. If not bundled properly, the print does not adhere to the fabric. The tannin present in the plant parts gets sticked to mordant treated fabric.
