Description

The Sonder Tapered Pants come in an interesting twill weave of black and white has been naturally dyed using Myrobalan and Iron. Crafted in 100% cotton fibres and natural materials. These twill pants are characterized by its yarn dyed diagonal lines, which are created by an offset in the warp threads. A staple piece for any wardrobe, these slightly tapered pants come with interesting cut away and welt pockets along with inverted pleats in the front. Practical touches include side and back pockets, button-fly fastening and belt loops. It also has adjustable loops at the hem as an element of multi-functionality involving the wearer in the process of choice and interchangeability. Type of Button used: Mother of Pearls Buttons Ethically Made in India from seed to stitch. This garment is 100% biodegradable allowing it to complete its journey.

Materials & Care

100% Upcycled Cotton Fabric

Hand wash separately in cold water. Kindly do not bleach. Dry in the shade. Iron or steam with warm heat and be so kind as to avoid dry cleaning.

Design

The brand sources the fabrics from a grassroot organization located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh working directly with artisan clusters based out of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal: India. The Kala Cotton fabric is handspun and handwoven from Gujarat while all other fabrics for this collection are handwoven in Gwalior using Ambar Charkha spun yarn. The fabrics are then naturally dyed in their facility at Bhopal in an entirely handcrafted process. The fabrics reach our workshop based out of Delhi where all other operations such as pattern-making, stitching, hand-embroidery and hand-finishing take place. It is here that our vision comes to life and is translated in the very design of the garments. The leftover fabric scraps that are collected during the production process and then repurposed into accessories to ensure optimal use of resources. We are proud to have Upcycling as one of the core design practices at the brand.
